Description

Native Crystallized Gold
Pontes e Lacerda, Mato Grosso, Brazil
3.8 x 1.9 x 1.6 cm (1.50 x 0.75 x 0.63 in)
21 grams

No photo will quite do justice for the color, luster, and intricate form of this native Gold specimen from Mato Grosso, which features complete 360 degree crystallization all around, forming in a beautiful floral shape with an elegant expansion upwards from an elegant hooked "stem." The front of the specimen features the classic ladder habit of a hoppered crystal, interjected by smaller crystals that are in themselves hoppered, culminating into a very intricate but still well-delineated shape. The backside of the specimen shows a different habit, still hoppered but more organic and arboreal. At 21 grams and nearly 4 centimeters in height, this is a very well-sized example, big enough to be visually impactful but not so big that it is prohibitively valued. Combined with its just-right aesthetics, this is the perfect Goldilocks zone for a specimen.

Ex. Bryan Mclaughlin collection.
