Description
Native CopperKeweenaw Peninsula., Michigan, USA
"A small cluster of copper crystals. I got this specimen when I sold Earl Calvert's collection for the family many years after he dies [sic]. "
- Rock H. Currier
Those toothy little crystals, they may be small, but they are sharp as hell. As I'm sure your parents told you, most Keweenaw Coppers have all the esthetics of potatoes and are worth about $3/ pound at the local salvage yard. This little number is a different kettle of fish. Between the sharpness of the crystals and the lovely "saddle-leather" patina, the only possible assessment is: Wow! This is a extremely fine Native Copper miniature! It's no wonder that Currier kept it.
Overall Measurements: 1.6 x 0.8 x 1.0 inches (4.0 x 2.0 x 2.5 cm)
Weight: 30.7 grams
Offered at no reserve
Provenance: Ex Earl Calvert Collection [RHC #6981, acquired 2000]
