    GROSSULAR var. HESSONITE
    Jeffrey Mine ("Johns-Manville Mine"), Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada

    This group of equant, cinnamon brown Hessonite crystals that measure up to 0.74 inches (1.9 cm) across, and they are on the grey/black matrix characteristic of Jeffrey Mine material. The faces of the crystals show brilliant parallel striations that flash brightly as the specimen is moved. It is in pristine condition and is a perfect miniature-size example from this now closed locality. This particular specimen hails from an old European collection.
    Overall measurements: 2.0 x 1.8 x 1.8 inches (5.0 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm)
