One of Canada's premier mineral localities for collecting is the Jeffrey Mine, home of world-class Vesuvianites, and more significantly, excellent Grossular specimens. The variety found here is typically Hessonite, which displays excellent peach-to-orange colors and prismatic, striated crystals. This example is actually more saturated than most, with Spessartine-like color captured within nice round crystals. The matrix has hints of green from the associated Diopside, for a nice contrast.
