Afghanistan is not first to mind when it comes to Ruby, but rather Myanmar (Burma). However, this is a superb 4 cm Ruby crystal juxtaposed smartly to a matrix piece of snow-white marble. The intense red, translucent to gemmy Ruby crystal is prismatic in form with slowly tapering pyramidal terminations on both ends. This is one of the sharpest Ruby crystals ever seen from any locality. This beauty has an excellent waxy luster and fabulous color. As a bonus, it also glows intensely under long-wave UV light. It is so bright red under ultraviolet light that it is difficult to observe. It is not just red; it is neon red. This is a high-quality and aesthetic specimen Ruby from not only Jegdalek but from any other locality.
