Utah is known for Copper mining, to be sure, but few mineral specimens come out while mining. This is an excellent small cabinet Azurite with a commanding presence. The piece is composed of a mosaic of countless 2 to 3 mm Azurite crystals back to front that sparkle from light coming in from any direction. The flattened rosette of Azurite crystals is a complete "floater" as there is no point of attachment. This is an excellent example of the secondary Copper mineral out of this classic American locality.
