Gold has a special place as a motivator for a large part of human behavior, and one look at the rich and unique, buttery color - along with the impressive weight of this metal is quite enough to supply the "why." No other material has held this level of fascination, or in some cases: obsession, for Mankind. Virtually as found, this semi-crystallized mass of high karat Gold retains a number of Quartz pebbles that were incorporated at the time of its formation. The condition of the Quartz argues that the specimen has not been etched out of any surrounding rock but rather, simply cleaned of dirt and adhering detritus. It measures 2 5/8 x 1½ x 3/8 inches, producing the visual effect of a lot of Gold for only a small amount of it: a good display value. It weighs 2.278 troy oz (70.87g) and comes on a custom base.
