    Description

    Gold Nugget
    Australia

Any Gold nugget of more than 10 troy ounces is still quite a rarity as the estimated total population of all examples over that size is less than 3,000. This sizable, yet most aesthetic, piece, with a number of unique characteristics, offers an intriguing duality with both smooth, raised sections on the surfaces contrasting sharply with the folded, rugged areas over the balance of the golden-yellow specimen. While both sides are captivating and complex, the primary display face appears to feature a "creature" of sorts with a full head complete with eyes, nose, and mouth readily visible at a certain orientation. Of course, this nugget does not represent anything organic even with the obvious abstract "character" that is hard to deny, but the hefty metal piece does weigh nearly 11 troy ounces making it something special even in the realm of larger Gold nuggets from Down Under, showcasing an intense luster, a vivid color, and the rare form.
    Overall Measurements: 2.90 x 1.85 x 0.69 inches (7.37 x 4.70 x 1.76 cm), weighs 337 grams (10.87 oz t)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
