This elongated nugget has been rubbed almost completely smooth on its raised surfaces, suggesting a long water-tumbled journey from the ancient mountains to the desolate outback. In pleasing contrast, however, it retains some excellent texture to the deeper crevices of its folded form, as well as fragments of the original quartz-rich rock in which it crystallized. The strong bright yellow color denotes a high karat content and the smooth surfaces give it a brilliant luster. An excellent specimen, it measures approximately 2 7/8 x 1 3/8 x ¾ inches and weighs in at 6.20 troy oz (193g).
