While this Gold nugget out of the Ruby Mining District of Alaska is definitely a classic, featuring all of the usual characteristics of examples from the 49th State, there is certainly nothing terribly typical about this massive specimen. With a weight of 727 grams (24.5 oz t), this is a truly enormous nugget with some minor visible matrix of Quartz. The highly lustrous surface boasts a brassy appearance making the offering as beautiful as it is big, especially for an Alaskan. The large surfaces are relatively different, with one complex and highly dimensional, while the other has a smooth aspect over virtually the entirety of its exterior. This is a very sizable Gold nugget on all counts, and the fact that it offers aesthetic attributes makes it a specimen piece well beyond just a huge nugget.
