Description
Gold NuggetAustralia
Gold is THE precious metal and has been for centuries. Almost magical in its appearance, people the world over love, appreciate, and revere the material. With applications for coinage, jewelry, and any numerous uses, Gold is commonly mined to be refined and used. As a result, only a small percentage remains in any sort of natural state, be it nugget, crystalline, or crystal form. In terms of large nuggets, examples become extremely rare, especially as the size increases significantly. Such background detail may seem superfluous, but not when it comes to something as exceeding rare and special as this Gold Nugget out of Australia that weighs just shy of a colossal 39 troy ounces! Specimens in this echelon of size are truly few and far between, representing a very finite group of extant or known examples. With certification from the Perth Mint, this nugget is beyond compare. Extremely heavy, enormously thick, and visually attractive to the highest degree, the magnificence of this offering cannot be understated. The smoother, prominent display surface boasts a regal shape and exquisite color. The immense mass rests nicely and securely without need of a base owing to a rim around an irregular channel groove on the bottom of the statuesque form. The combination of color, textures, and shape puts this above and beyond any normal discussion of a typical larger nugget. The reverse is slightly more intricate than the front, but both faces are compelling and intriguing. The piece rises well over 4 inches (10 cm) vertically and looks every bit as majestic as anything of such supreme rarity, high value, and artistic form should.
Measurements: 4.20 x 3.44 x 1.65 inches (10.68 x 8.73 x 4.19 cm), weighs 1,209 grams (38.87 oz t)
