This brassy Gold nugget from the famed Alleghany District of California presents like a spent shell casing from a high-powered gun. The Gold has been smoothed by natural forces, giving the example an almost polished appearance. The metal contrasts subtly with filler of a light reddish-yellow granular matrix that naturally lines the various crevices and fissures in the slick Gold. Extremely dense for its size, this sample weighs just about 5 troy ounces and offers two dynamic, yet equally appealing, display surfaces of Gold. Overall Measurements: 2.39 x 0.96 x 0.52 inches (6.06 x 2.45 x 1.32 cm), weighs 152 grams (4.88 oz t)
