The inherent duality of this Gold Nugget from Western Australia is something worth noting, as half of the golden form is relatively flat, while the other half is quite dimensional. Moreover, the flat section contains a rare trio of holes, including one of significant size. Highly textural, and with an appealing shape, appearing scorpion-like, this complex example does display a subtle overall smoothness - the likely result of alluvial action. The dynamic piece has an organic appearance to its complicated form and a radiant golden hue suggestive of high purity. Out of the Queensland Menzies Gold Mine, this specimen, weighing a solid 3.14 troy ounces, is a collector's dream in terms of the combination of size, shape, and color.
