Description

Crystallized Gold Nugget - 345.18 Grams (11.10 Troy Ounces)
Unknown Locality

This substantial specimen represents an example of Native Gold, a member of the Native Elements group, presented here as an expansive crystallized mass weighing a substantial 11.1 troy ounces. Although the precise locality remains unknown, the piece reflects the natural processes of Gold formation, likely originating in a primary lode environment before undergoing minimal transport. The specimen presents as a broad, foil-like form, with irregular, flattened surfaces and a complex, crumpled morphology, suggestive of malleable deformation during growth, or some subsequent geological movement. Its overall dull, yellowish coloration differs from the bright luster of freshly exposed Gold, indicating surface texturing and possible microscale crystallization across its broad faces. As a sizable and visually distinctive example with visible Quartz matrix, this should hold strong appeal for collectors interested in the diverse natural formations of Native Gold.
Measurements: 4.28 x 2.89 x 1.52 inches (10.86 x 7.35 x 3.85 cm), weighs 345.18 grams (11.10 oz t)

Provenance: Private Northeast Collection

Estimate: $50,000 - up.
