Amethyst is simply a variety of Quartz - characterized by its captivating purple color. When heated, either naturally - or, more commonly, artificially - it can transform into a golden Citrine as with this stunning crystalline geode. The cavernous "vug" exhibits a fluid carpeting of golden-brown crystals folded throughout the interior of the deep cavity. A rim of white Quartz borders the interior crystal treasure of this amazing offering. On a base "in situ" at a property of the consignor, this decorative specimen is ready to add a huge pop of color to any environment. The sturdy material can remain outdoors and is easily cleaned. This is simply a magnificent and, of course, very large Citrine geode.
