Actinolite altering to Epidote in Smoky Quartz

This Quartz sphere has a nice smoky base color, noticeably smoky but not so dark that the inclusions get lost in the sphere. Piercing through this Quartz are thousands of thin crystals of Actinolite, many of which are altering or pseudomorphing into Epidote. This unusual crystallography is not only scientifically intriguing but also very beautiful, and gives this sphere a very unique characteristic. The arrangement of these thousands of crystals is incredible: they appear to form in "bushels," or groupings of parallel growth, and then these bushels criss-cross into each other like rockets. This dynamic arrangement is reminiscent of the Tesseract scene from Interstellar: this is a sphere that you can get lost in!
