UNUSUAL PYRITE & SMOKEY QUARTZ
Janet Ore Occurrence, Kara-Oba W Deposit, Betpakdala Desert, Qaraghandy Oblysy, Kazakhstan
Large, bright Pyrite cube in association with a Quartz prism that is colorless at the base and dark smokey at the tip. The Pyrite measures 2 1/8 inches on edge and the smokey Quartz is 4 inches tall. The Pyrite has minor modifications to the edges and both have minor wear but otherwise in fine condition. The specimen, from this unusual and remote locality, was purchased from Daniel Jr. before it could be brought to market. Overall measurements are 3 x 4 1/8 x 4 5/8 inches and there is a custom labeled base.
