EXCEPTIONAL SCHEELITE
Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China

Exceptionally large dipyramidal Scheelite crystal on matrix. Golden yellow-orange color with typical moderately included body becoming transparent and gemmy near the terminations. It is perched on, and intergrown with, silvery Muscovite blades growing out of a micaceous matrix. Luster is very bright, particularly for a Scheelite. There is a minor amount of damage to one termination, otherwise in excellent condition. The main crystal is a sizable 3 ½ inches across and the specimen measures 6 x 6 x 4 ½ inches overall. Has a custom labeled base. Ex Wilensky Collection.
