CLASSIC WHEATLEY PYROMORPHITE

This fine Wheatley Pyromorphite is an American classic. The terminology "Wheatley Mines" refers to mines in and around the Phoenixville district of Chester County, including the French Creek Mine that was started in 1717 and ceased operations in 1928. This highly desirable specimen is an aggregate of deep grass green, lustrous, hexagonal prisms encrusting a light orange characteristic matrix. Exceptionally fine specimen, in excellent condition with sizable crystals up to 5/16 inches in length. Overall specimen measures 3 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Custom labeled base.
