Zeolite Specimen - Apophyllite on Stilbite
    Jalgaon District

The Zeolite family of minerals is well represented in this impressive specimen which showcases two of the more prominent members of the group: Apophyllite and Stilbite. Large clusters of salmon colored Stiibite crystals are interconnected on their edges with a prominent "rose" shape in the middle due to one grouping coming together just so. While the rich and colorful Stilbite is very attractive in both color and form, it may be the gemmy cluster of transparent green Apopyllite crystals jutting out from behind the peachy cluster that really moves this piece to the next level. The "Coke-bottle" green is an amazing hue, and the well-formed, inter-grown crystals give the specimen a collectible status. Both of the Zeolite components rest on a matrix of blue-black druzy Chalcedony which look like tiny stalactites. There is some minor nicking to the exposed edging of the outer Apophyllite crystal; otherwise, the nice example is in excellent condition. The Stilbite bowties contrast sharply with the clear crystals of tabular Apophyllite which measure a symmetrical 1.37 x 1.37 inches (3.5 x 3.5 cm) in both form and color that makes the piece most impressive as an association of two disparate looking but closely related minerals.
    Overall Measurements: 4.37 x 4.05 x 2.75 inches (11.1 x 10.3 x 7 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.
