Jianshan Mine, Ruoqiang Co. (Qakilik Co.; Chaqiliq Co.)
Bayin'gholin Autonomous Prefecture (Bayingolin Autonomous Prefecture;Bayinguoleng Autonomous Prefecture), Xinjiang

A superb specimen for the variety, especially from China, this exemplary Wulfenite displays quite robust crystals on a large plate in nearly pristine condition with only minimal crystal tip damage to be expected. From the discovery in the early 2000s and originally sourced from the individual who controlled most of the production at the mine, the example is considered one of the best red Wulfenite pieces in the world for its overall size and richness. In testimony to its superlative nature, this specimen was featured in the exhibit 'Crystalline Treasures: The Mineral Heritage of China' at the University of Arizona in 2013 which opened in conjunction with the world-renowned Tucson Gem & Mineral Show that year. Presented with a custom engraved acrylic base, this mineral is supremely collectible and exhibits outstanding aesthetics, with rich reddish-orange coloration, vibrant luster, and well-formed tabular crystals. At 5.75 inches (14.6 cm) in height, this sizable large cabinet offering, with exceptional shape and form, is one ideal specimen.
    Measurements: 5.75 x 4.11 x 2.09 inches (14.61 x 10.44 x 5.32 cm)

    Provenance: Ex. Robert Lavinsky Collection
