Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan

Call this a colorful "V for Victory" Tourmaline with the longer 'arm' or 'finger' - if you prefer, measuring 5.31 x 0.9 inches (13.5 x 2.3 cm), and the shorter one, a more modest 3.54 x 0.9 inches (9.0 x 2.3 cm). Color of the larger crystal is green with considerable inclusions and a slight pink area transitioning to clean bright green and finally pale pink at the termination. The second crystal is an even brighter blue/green with a number of inclusions, and a pale pink 'cap' at the termination. Near the junction of the crystals there is mass of much smaller, sub-parallel crystals with a partial Cookeite overcoat. The prisms are heavily striated but still show glassy luster, as do the terminations. It has been repaired, and there is minor nicking to some edges; otherwise, it is in excellent condition. Under incandescent light, the core of the prisms looks warmly golden in color. It comes with a custom labeled base.
    Overall measurements: 5.1 x 4.1 x 1.5 inches (13 x 10.4 x 3.8 cm)
