DescriptionTOURMALINE & QUARTZ
Taquaral, Itinga, Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Sprouting from a mixed matrix of Feldspar and Lepidolite are multiple crystals of dark green Tourmaline and colorless Quartz. The largest of the Tourmalines is 2.24 x 0.47 inches (5.7 x 1.2 cm) where it is not obscured by enclosing Quartz, showing 'scepter' type of development. Nearby is a complete scepter measuring 1.65 x 0.79 inches (4.2 x 2.0 cm) that is in excellent condition. A number of secondary Tourmaline prisms are partially buried in the matrix, but the main focus is the terminated one referred to in front of the colorless scepter. Overall condition is fine to excellent.
Overall measurements: 6.1 x 2.6 x 3.2 inches (15.4 x 6.5 x 8.1 cm)
