SulphurMaybee Quarry, Maybee, Exeter Township, Monroe County, Michigan, USA
23 x 14 x 12 cm (9.06 x 5.51 x 4.72 in)
Collectors are accustomed to seeing Sulphur specimens from localities in Italy and Boliva, but rarely does one see large crystalline specimens from US localities like the well-known Maybee Quarry in Michigan. This is a dazzling piece with multitudes of resinous canary yellow Sulphur crystals on matrix lining the inside of a slightly concave pocket cavity. The large individual crystals (up to 2.4 centimeters) are easily discernible providing some depth and undulation to the display face. The translucent bright yellow crystals have a beautiful sunshine glow with proper lighting. This large museum sized specimen with the fine crystal quality is almost unheard of from Michigan making it a truly special piece. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
More Information: The piece is in excellent condition.
