Out of all the Smithsonite specimens found around the world, the material from the Kelly Mine is amongst some of the most coveted for the species. This particular specimen is a lovely cabinet-sized example that presents a field of blue-green Smithsonite botryoides covering a host rock matrix. The most pronounced botryoides are consolidated to the corners and edges of the specimen, many of which are translucent and have a wet luster. Smaller Smithsonite "rice grains" are sprinkled across the rest of the display view. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
