Description

    SCHORL with QUARTZ & FELDSPAR
Davib East Farm 61 (Davib Ost Farm), Karibib District, Erongo Region, Namibia

This plate consists of five brilliantly lustrous Schorl prisms nestled among 13 or so Smoky Quartz crystals. The largest of the Quartz crystals is approximately 1.85 inches (4.7 cm) long, and the largest Tourmaline is approximately 1.18 x 1.02 inches (3.0 x 2.6 cm). All of the Schorl crystals rise from a matrix of white Feldspar with a slight yellowish cast that is liberally sprinkled with smaller Schorls. A couple of the Quartz crystals and one peripheral Tourmaline show damage, otherwise condition is excellent. Quartz luster varies from satiny on prisms to glassy on terminations.
    Overall measurements: 6.3 x 4.7 x 2.4 inches (16 x 12 x 6 cm)
