DescriptionSCHORL with ALBITE
Shengus, Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan
A group of three stubby Schorl crystals rising from a matrix of Albite. These Tourmalines are quite sizable for any Schorl, let alone from this locality, the largest one is approximately 2.36 inches (6 cm) in height and 1.33 inches (3.4 cm) in diameter. The deep black Schorls contrast beautifully against the sparkling white of the Albite crystals and the overall effect is heightened by the numerous striations on the sides of the Tourmalines, and their glassy terminations. Condition is excellent with only very minor nicking to edges of the Tourmaline. There is a custom labeled base for this study in black and white.
Overall measurements: 4.1 x 3.6 x 3.7 inches (10.4 x 9.2 x 9.3 cm)
Illustrated: Fong/Walker, M., Neumeier, G., & Walker, J. (Eds.). (2015). The World of Tourmaline: The Gerhard Wagner Collection. Dallas, Texas: Ivy Press. Page 221.
Estimate: $45,000 - $65,000.
