DescriptionSCHORL & QUARTZ
Erongo Mountain, Erongo Region, Namibia
This outstanding Erongo Schorl group of unusually large size, consists of two major and several minor crystals. The largest crystal is 3.34 (8.5 cm) long by 2.83 (7.2 cm) across. Both major crystals are doubly-terminated with glossy luster and are accompanied by a small amount of Smoky Quartz on one side and light yellow groups of Hyalite Opal on the bottom of the piece. Under UV light, the Opal fluoresces a brilliant green. There are traces of another crystal (now missing) and a few minor nicks to the edges; otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
