Xianghualing Mine, Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic Ore Field, Linwu Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China

Like an abstract Mt. Everest, looming over a series of pale green Fluorite cubes, is this sharply defined giant of a Scheelite specimen. The massive pyramid measures just less than 3 inches (7.5 cm) on edge and sports a flanking crystal respectable in its own right. Both are nearly colorless on the backside and a mottled smoky tint that darkens near the terminations. Both show good luster and very minor nicking to terminations. The Fluorite cubes display minor octahedral modifications and the largest is just about 1.06 inches (3.0 cm) on edge. They are glassy and in excellent condition. Under SW Ultra-Violet, the usual blue fluorescence appears.
    Overall measurements: 5 x 3.5 x 3.25 inches (12.7 x 8.9 x 8.3 cm). Offered at no reserve.

Provenance: Dan Weinrich [Hoppel Catalog # D1868]
