Description

    Quartz
Jan Coetzee Copper Mine, Okiep Copper District, Namakwa District, Northern Cape Province, South Africa

For those true believers in "crystal power," here is a rare opportunity to acquire some exotic aids in your cosmic quest. The story starts in the early 1990s when miners working in the dark recesses of the Jan Coetzee Mine intersected a large natural cavity lined with special Quartz crystals. Some were double terminated and all possess a dusting of greenish Chlorite, which in concert with the double terminated Quartz gives rise to incredible healing and purifying powers. Colorless, equant Calcite crystals showing a red-orange fluorescence dot the exterior surfaces, along with golden, doubly-terminated Barite prisms and, as a final touch, there are tiny metallic gold Pyrite cubes mixed in with the Chlorite. The interior transparency of the 'wands' varies from a "veiled" type to transparent with occasional "rainbows." One of the wands exhibits a medium, smoky coloration and the other is also smoky but a bit lighter in tone. Areas at the terminations bear reddish Hematite inclusions guaranteed to "stabilize" or "ground" you. Overall condition is excellent to pristine with very, very minor nicks acquired in extraction. Since the mine is now shuttered, it is very likely that this offer will not be repeated.
