Presented here is a very large and noteworthy Pyrite crystal with Quartz from what is known as the world-famous "Spruce Peak Deposit" in Washington State. This is the best locality for Pyrite in the USA. The location is a challenging place to collect due to its steep cliffs and is only accessible by helicopter. It was exploited by a group of collectors in the late 1970s and later in the 1980s and 1990s. This example dates to the older era of this locality. This is a sharp and lustrous cube with strong striations along the main crystal face and others. This big Pyrite crystal measures an amazing 4 inches across at its widest and is accompanied by a few small Quartz crystals from 1 to 3.5 cm in length.This is simply a miraculously large pyrite for any USA locality and worthy of any collection.
