The desire of humans to reduce the Universe to comprehensible dimensions often results in a similar drive to reduce forms to comprehensible ones, as anyone who has taken a commercial cave tour can attest. Dragons, elephants and other wildlife are consistent denizens of many a cave or rock formation. This drive doesn't stop with immovable objects and shadowy lighting, any rock outcrop and more than a few mineral specimens are saddled with descriptions likening them to animals, dead or imaginary. In keeping with this hallowed tradition is this concretion composed of Iron Sulfide, which can either take the form of Pyrite or its sister mineral: Marcasite. Only complex analysis can tell which is which. The shape of the concretion is supposed to be the result of the concretion taking on the shape of a "worm burrow" excavated by ---- worms in the muddy bottom of a quiet lagoon. It could just as easily be a strange aggregate of Pyrite/Marcasite crystals that happened to take an odd shape. Whatever its origin, it remains a group of Pyrite or Marcasite crystals forming a complete and somewhat sinuous form with a brassy exterior of tooth-like crystal terminations, sprouting from all surfaces. There is no damage to this curious form and the buyer can decide for his or herself just what it really looks like.
