DescriptionPREHNITE after LAUMONTITE with APOPHYLLITE
Mumbai District (Bombay District), Maharashtra, India
Three minerals makeup this light, mint green confection, two of them are readily apparent, the third - not so much. It started out as a "Jackstraw" jumble of Laumontite, remnants of which can still be seen on the bottom as white blades. The Laumontite subsequently was encrusted with a coating of green Prehnite and following that, blocky crystals of colorless Apophyllite crystallized out on all available surfaces. Condition is quite fine, considering that usually most of these specimens are damaged during their extraction.
