POLISHED RHODOCHROSITE
Capillitas Mine, Andalgala, Catamarca Province, Argentina
This polished free-form Rhodochrosite sculpture was fashioned years ago from the kind of deep-rose material only rarely seen today. It shows delicate flower-like patterns on one side and has been partially polished on the obverse in order to show the original surface as found in the mine. A sawn bottom surface serves as the base. Fine condition. 5 ¼ x 3 ¼ x 2 inches.
