    Description

    NATIVE COPPER
    Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA

The tendency among humans to associate known forms with inanimate objects is responsible for numerous natural features being named for their supposed resemblance to some other object, whether animate or not. Based on such conjectures, it is immediately obvious that the mass of sharply defined Native Copper crystals seen here resembles the movie star Godzilla ... or maybe one of the ... Transformers. Whichever it is, the fact remains that this is a very fine, freestanding group of Native Copper crystals, arrayed in an unusual 3-D sort of format, with hollow areas and channels covered on all surfaces by well-formed crystals. Patina is similar to new saddle leather and there is no damage. In the interior is a painted accession number "604." This fine specimen has no matrix, but does have a custom acrylic stand. See the 360 degree video of this specimen that is available online.
    Overall Measurements: 2.88 x 3.13 x 4.69 inches (7.36 x 8.0 x 11.9 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.

    Provenance: Western Minerals [Hoppel #D2073]
