MesolitePune District, Pune Division, Maharashtra, India
13.0 x 8.9 x 7.2 cm (5.1 x 3.5 x 2.8 in)
Offered is a superb example of the ever mesmerizing (and delicate) Mesolite arrangements that come from the prolific quarries of Pune. Most of the specimen is dominated by a substantial, sweeping spray of pristine Mesolite crystals that arcs elegantly over a small amount of matrix, creating a dramatic, sculptural display reminiscent of a mohawk or the ornate plumage crest ("crista") of an ancient Roman helmet. Each crystal is slender, transparent, needle-like, and white to completely colorless, with a dazzling vitreous luster that catches the light at every angle. The sheer density and symmetry of the spray, combined with the specimen's impressive size and overall condition, make this an outstanding example for the species.
More Information: This piece is in excellent condition. This specimen is naturally brittle and may shed minor fragments during handling or transit. Please take care when unpacking and handling, and consider storing in a stable, protected environment to minimize material loss.
