DescriptionMATRIX ZEOLITE SPECIMEN WITH COMPANION PAINTING BY GAMINI RATNAVIRA
Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Maharashtra State, India
It is widely conceded that the crème of the Worlds Zeolite specimens has to include the beautiful, pastel green, spherical Apophyllite groups from Aurangabad. They are made even more desirable when found in association with cream-colored blades of Stilbite; another of the Zeolite group of minerals. This radiating 'sun-burst' was considered to be such an exemplary specimen that it was worthy of being captured in a painting by renowned Wildlife and Natural History artist: Gamini Ratnavira of Fallbrook, California. The framed watercolor is not a print; it is the original and is signed by the artist. This unique pairing is offered as one lot. Both specimen and painting are in pristine condition. The Apophyllite measures 3 x 2 ¼ x 1 inch deep and has a custom base. The painting measures 4 x 6 inches and is 7 ¾ x 9 ¾ overall in its custom frame.
