Description

Malachite Free-Form
DR Congo

This sizable decorative specimen of gorgeous green Malachite originated in the famed Copper Crescent region of Africa. This Copper carbonate mineral features the classic, rich coloration and texture so often associated with Malachite from this region, with unmistakable deep green hues and concentric banding, which swirl and ripple like topographic maps in vivid emerald tones. Malachite is prized for its saturated green hue and lovely "Bull's-Eye" patterns, which this stunner exemplifies, consisting of hundreds of patterns in varying shapes, sizes, and tones of green. This one-of-a-kind Malachite has everything, and an additional spattering of cavernous sections, with one main, extremely substantial and deep cavity near the center, with well-formed, thick stalactitic crystals covered in velvety, fibrous crystal aggregates which shimmer when hit with light. This entire piece has been polished to a high luster, revealing a natural interplay of botryoidal textures and smooth undulations for maximum visual appeal. The prized organic-shaped Malachite is in excellent condition with a natural 'flat-based' section for ease of display.
Measurements: 8.27 x 6.30 x 4.72 inches (21.00 x 16.00 x 12.00 cm)
