Naica Mine, Naica, Mun. de Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico
The Naica Mine has been a producer of Lead, Zinc and Silver for many years now. During the course of those many years, caves were occasionally encountered while mining and some were conduits for hot, mineral-laden water that collects in the lower parts of the mine where it deposits Gypsum on any available surface. In this case the available surface was a mine timber, which has left its impression on the back of the light green crystal group. Most all of the crystals are intact so condition is excellent.
Overall measurements: 15 x 5 x 4 inches (38 x 12.7 x 10.0 cm). Offered at no reserve.
Provenance: Tyson's Fine Minerals [Hoppel Catalog # D1845]
[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
