Botryoidal Fluorites are rare and best known in large aesthetic specimens from this Indian locality. These Nasik Fluorites have always been popular, not only due to their relative uncommonness but also the fact that they are very eye-appealing. It is unknown why this type of Fluorite is only found at this location and almost nowhere else in the world; despite hundreds of other Fluorite locales, it is still a puzzle. This piece consists of gorgeous, amber-yellow, completely transparent Fluorite botryoids that measure 5.6 cm across. The Fluorite's satin luster slightly obscures its transparency. The Fluorite ball is set aesthetically in a nest of light Amethystine Quartz crystals for great balance and presentation. Most of these are in white Quartz or milky Quartz, and the Amethyst association is quite rare. An old specimen purchased directly from the importer, Super Minerals India, before 2010 and not seen in recent finds with the same aesthetics.
