Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China

These multi-generational combinations of Fluorite and Quartz quickly grew in popularity after their discovery in 2014 for their distinct appearance, compared to other Fluorites the locality produced years prior. At its core, this cabinet sized specimen is composed of colorless Quartz crystals that have been draped in a secondary generation of milky white Quartz and subsequent growths of deep blue Fluorite. While the color of the Fluorite is impressive on its own, most of the crystals have an unusually rounded appearance created from a strong curvature along the beveled corners and edges. Some of the more significant Fluorites are presented near the tips of the primary Quartz crystals, with the best-formed (2.4 centimeters) being presented near the center of the display. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
