Description
DANBURITECharcas, Mun. de Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico
Charcas has the distinction of having produced not only the largest amount of the World's Danburites, but also arguably the finest examples of this mineral known. Formerly the property of Titanic composer James Horner, this enormous group is almost a foot across and sports a veritable forest of very large Danburite crystals up to 7.08 inches (18 cm) in length and 2.36 inches (6 cm) in width. These monstrous prisms exhibit brilliant, glassy luster and faint pink and yellow coloration. There are minor nicks, but overall condition is quite excellent, especially for a group of this size. It has a custom labeled base.
Overall measurements: 11.1 x 8.9 x 7.1 inches (28.2 x 22.5 x 18.0 cm)
Provenance: Ex. James Horner Collection
