Craters are a fabulous variety of Agate, with the added bonus of fluorescing an "apple" green hue under short-wave ultraviolet light. This large and spectacular example features a broad mysterious bluish band, lined with blood red, bordering a deep cavity displaying a "bubbly" muted Hematite. The massive, nearly 9-inch (23 cm) specimen is highly decorative in normal light and one amazing wonder illuminated under ultraviolet light. The "supernatural" looking green color is likely due to the presence of Uranium Salts in the Crater Agate.
