Description
ClinozoisiteCerro San Cristóbal, San Vicente de Cañete, Cañete Province, Lima, Peru
15 x 12 x 10 cm (5.91 x 4.72 x 3.94 in)
A striking cabinet specimen that presents several complete prismatic crystals of Clinozoisite, the largest of which are doubly-terminated and range up to 5.4 centimeters in length. The crystals have an incredibly rich olive-green color that is accented with a partial gemminess along the crystals' exterior. Dan acquired this piece back in 2017, the same year specimen-grade Clinozoisites were first being found in Cerro San Cristóbal. Sadly, no more specimens have been recovered from the zone where these Clinozoisites were found, making these pieces an even more elusive commodity. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
