Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Subtle cues allow viewers to differentiate Tsumeb minerals, including Calcite, from those of other locales. This Calcite "flower" shows the typical sub-parallel, fan-like groupings of simple rhombs that are almost transparent. The red, Hematite inclusions along certain edges are also definitive its Tsumeb origin. The atypical aspect of this group is the hemispherical nature of it overall, giving the assemblage the form of a flower: perhaps a Rose or a "Ball Dahlia." Minor nicks to a few edges but excellent overall condition. A custom base has been crafted for it.
