Description
Beryl var. Aquamarine with MuscovitePakistan
This magnificent and notably rare specimen presents an extraordinary concentration of terminated Aquamarine crystals, a feature seldom encountered in such abundance or perfection. A total of 58 sharply defined crystals, each exhibiting excellent clarity and natural termination, are beautifully embedded within a matrix of bladed Muscovite crystals. The Aquamarines display the serene blue coloration for which the species, Beryl var. Aquamarine, is so highly prized, featuring a glasslike transparency enhanced by the reflective shimmer of the surrounding Muscovite. The latter mineral, composed of thin, platy layers of Mica, derives its name from "Muscovy glass," a reference to its historic use in medieval Russia as a translucent window material. Weighing approximately 7 pounds (3.18 kilograms), this specimen exemplifies both geological rarity and aesthetic harmony-a superb example of crystallization in nature and an exceptional addition to any connoisseur's collection of fine mineral specimens.
Measurements: 9.50 x 3.25 x 2.75 inches (24.13 x 8.25 x 6.98 cm)
Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern California Collector
