This elegant specimen features a well-formed, elongated hexagonal crystal of bright blue Aquamarine measuring approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) in length. The crystal is naturally embedded in a matrix of milky Quartz with associated Feldspar, offering a pleasing contrast between the transparent, gem-quality Beryl and the more opaque host minerals. Aquamarine specimens from Maine are highly regarded for their clarity and vivid coloration, and this example is a fine representation of the locality's historic pegmatite fields. The crystal exhibits excellent termination and prismatic definition, making it both an aesthetic display piece and a notable addition to a mineralogical collection.
