Dallas Gem Mine, San Benito River Headwaters Area, New Idria District, Diablo Range, San Benito Co., California, USA

The availability of classic combinations of Benitoite and Neptunite has started to dwindle as the source area has taken on the look of a rural golf-course. Going forward, all material on the market will consist of pieces already out of the ground. This cabinet sized specimen features approximately 15 Sapphire blue Benitoite pyramids up to 0.75 inch (1.85 cm) on edge, along with a number of lustrous black prisms of Neptunite: another super-rare Titanium mineral. White areas of the original matrix, before etching and exposure, are the remains of Natrolite veins, which hosts these rare citizens of the remote and forbidding San Benito County. This specimen is in fine to excellent condition with traces of the opposing wall of the Natrolite veins appearing on high spots of the piece.
    Overall Measurements: 6.37 x 3.21 x 1.14 inches (16.2 x 8.16 x 2.9 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.

Provenance: The Rock Hut [Hoppel #D0674]
