BaryteFrizington Mine, Frizington, Arlecdon & Frizington, Copeland, Cumbria, England, UK
20 x 18 x 15 cm (7.87 x 7.09 x 5.91 in)
This massive Frizington Baryte specimen is nothing short of jaw-dropping, featuring several superb, modified tabular Baryte crystals, the largest of which is presented at the center of the display and reaches an immense 8.7 centimeters in length. Each of the Barytes have a strong glassy luster and a rich sky-blue color, which nicely contrasts against the sparkling, purple associations of Lepidolite. Most of the Baryte is translucent but becomes more and more transparent-even gemmy-at the tips along the b-axis. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
More Information: This piece is in excellent condition with five minor restorations on the corners and edges of the Baryte.
