AZURITE - THE 'EASTER EGG POCKET'

Tsumeb has become synonymous with massive, single crystals of Azurite. That's one of the things that make this specimen so different and surprising. Instead of one massive crystal; we have a massive amount of smaller, bladed crystals. It would be conceivable that it had been misidentified or mislocated by accident or design were it not for the small Cerussite twin nestled down in the center of the piece. There are much fewer locations known where this combination occurs; Tsumeb is one of them. What's left of the matrix on the back side is also consistent with a Tsumeb origin. The Azurites themselves are extremely lustrous and sharp. Color is the typical deep blue/black common to well crystallized Azurite. Condition is excellent with little or no damage apparent. 4 ¾ x 4 3/8 x 2 ½ inches.
